चरस ćaras (fr. ćarsā), s.m. A large leathern bag or bucket (for drawing water from wells;—syn. purwaṭ; moṭh);—the exudation of the flowers of hemp collected with the dew and prepared for use as an intoxicating drug (it is collected, it is said, by persons running through a field of gānjā, with leathernaprons):—ćarasbāz, s.m.=ćarsī, q.v.
