peshwā, s.m. Exemplar, model; guide, leader; foreman; the head of a party; highpriest; the chief of a religious sect; a moral or religious instructor;—the first executive officer (among the Marhaṭṭas):—peshwākarnā, v.t. To follow as a model; to take as a guide, etc.:—peshwālenā(-kā), To meet and receive (a friend or visitor).
