होंठ hoṅṭh[Prk. ओट्ठो; S. ओƵः], s.m. The lip:—hoṅṭh ūde paṛnā, The lips to turn blue (with cold, etc.):—hoṅṭh phaṭnā, v.n. The lips to crack or become chapped:—hoṅṭh ćabānā, or hoṅṭh kāṭnā, To bite the lips; to bite the lips (from regret, or vexation, etc.); to be mortified; to be penitent; to be apprehensive:—hoṅṭh ćāṭnā, To lick the lips; to smack the lips:—hoṅṭh-kaṭā, adj. Having a fissure in the lip; hare-lipped:—hoṅṭh laṭkānāor bićkānā, v.n. To make a lip, to pout:—hoṅṭh hilānā, To move the lips; to speak.
