िहरण्य hiraṇya, s.m. Gold (crude bullion or wrought); silver; any precious metal (unwrought); wealth, property; substance; imperishable matter; semen virile; a cowrie:—hiraṇyāksh (˚ya+ak˚), s.m. Golden-eyed,' name of a celebrated Daityaor demon, twin-brother of Hiranya-kaśipu (he was killed by Vishṇu in his third avatārin the form of a boar):—hiraṇya-retā, s.m. 'Having golden seed'; an epithet of Agui or fire; of the sun; and of Śiva:—hiraṇya-kaśipu, and hiraṇya-kaśyap, s.m.
