nard (i.q. S. नर; cf. also S. निदर्त), s.f. A counter, a man or piece (in the game of ćausar, or in chess, etc.);—any game played with counters or pieces; chess, draughts, backgammon, etc.;—the naked trunk (of a tree):—nard mārnā, To capture or win a piece (at ćausar, etc.).
