नाियका nāyikā, and H. नायका nāyakā, nā`ekā, or nā`ikā, s.f. The wife of a nāyak;—a conductress, mistress;—(in erotic or dramatic poetry) a mistress; a wife;—the heroine (in a drama, etc.);—a noble lady; a damsel, lass;—the mistress of a brothel, the mother-bawd; duenna; procuress;—an inferior form or śaktiof Durgā(of which there are eight,—Ugra-ćaṇḍā, Praćaṇḍā, Ćaṇḍogrā, Ćaṇḍa-nāyikā, Ati-ćaṇḍā, Ćāmuṇḍā, Ćaṇḍā, and Ćaṇḍā-vatī).
