नाव nāw, vulg. nā`o[Prk. नावा; S. नौः, in comp. नाव(Vedic नावा),—P. also nāv, fr. old P. nāvi], s.f. A boat; a ship, vessel;—(prob. through the Persian) anything long and hollow; a pipe, tube; a trough (cf. P. nāb):—nā`o ćalānā, To steer, or navigate, a boat; to sail:—nāw-dān, s.m. A canal; an aqueduct; a drain, gutter (i.q. nāb-dān):—kāgaẕ-kīnā`o, 'A paper-boat'; any frail thing.
