mīrān[mīr, q.v.+ān= Zend ānaor ana= S. अन], s.m. A portion paid to the head of a department out of the fees received by the inferior officers;—name of a saint and miraclemonger (whose memory is held in veneration by women, and the lower orders of certain classes of Muḥammadans and Hindūs):—mīrān-jī, s.m. The saint Mīrān;—the month rabī’u-s̤-s̤ānī(in the language of women):—mīrān gor barābar, prov. 'Mīrān's grave (is) as (or as large as) Mīrān'; expenditure as the income.
