मूंड mūṅḍ, or मूण्ड mūṇḍ[Prk. मुंडं; S. मुण्डं], s.m. The head;—(dialec.) a square cloth of three or four cubits, as a light turban or wrapper for the head, or worn round the pelvis:—mūṅḍ-bheṛ, or mūṅḍ-bheṛā, s.m. 'Striking with the head,' butting:—mūṅḍpānā(-kā), To get the ear (of); to get round (a person); to coax; to wheedle:—mūṅḍ-ćūrā, s.m. A kind of pillar or column:—mūṅḍmārnā, To beat the head (in perplexity, or trouble, etc.); to rack the brains; to make strenuous effort;—to throw (a thing) at the head (of, -ke):—mūṅḍmunḍānā, To get the head shaved;—to become a bairāgī, or a sanyāsī, etc.
