मनाना manānā[caus. of mānnā;—manā˚= mān˚+ā= āw= Prk. आवor आवे=S. आिपcaus. augment], v.t. To cause to mind; to put in mind (of, -se); to cause to agree to, etc.; to cause to trust; to reason with, to persuade, prevail upon, win over; to soothe; to coax; to conciliate; to propitiate; to assuage, to appease;—to turn the mind or attention to; to pay (one's) devoirs to; to invoke, to call upon (God); to desire (of, -se), to pray for;—to meditate, reflect upon;—to practise, to carry on (?):—manānā-danānā, v.t. To conciliate, to appease, etc. (i.q. manānā).
