मुिƠ mukti, vulg. mukt, s.f. Loosing, release, deliverance, liberation, setting free; remission; relief; escape; acquittal; freedom; emancipation; absolution; salvation;—final liberation or emancipation, the deliverance of the soul from the body and exemption from further transmigration; the reabsorption of the spirit into the supreme soul of the universe; final beatitude;—liberated state;—unloosing, opening; abandonment (of), giving up; putting off; leaving off:—mukti pānā(-se), To obtain deliverance, or salvation, or final beatitude:—mukti-dātā, or mukt-dātā, mukti-dāyak, or mukti-dāyī, adj. & s.m. Freedom-giving; salvation-giving;—emancipator; deliverer; saviour (the term is used by Hindūs as an epithet of the Supreme Being; and by Christians also, as an epithet of Christ):—mukti-sādhan, s.m. The accomplishing emancipation; the attaining to final beatitude:—mukti-khojak, adj. & s.m. Seeking (or the seeker of) liberty, or deliverance, etc.:—mukti-hetu, adv.
