muḵẖaffaf (pass. part. of خفّف 'to make or render light,' etc. ii of خ فّ 'to be or become light'), part. adj. Made light, lightened; alleviated, abated; contracted; abbreviated; (a consonant) having a short for a long vowel, or a tashdīdremoved;—light; contemptible;—s.m. A contracted form, a contraction (as ṣfor ṣāḥīḥ).
