mǒḥkam (pass. part. of احكم 'to make or render firm or strong,' etc.; iv of حكم 'to prevent, restrain,' etc.), part. adj. Made (or rendered) firm, etc.; firm, stable, strong, solid, compact, etc.; robust; tight; fortified, strengthened;—(a passage of the Qor`ān, etc.), of which the meaning is secured from change or alteration; not abrogated; which still holds good;—incontrovertible; clear, perspicuous; unambiguous, unequivocal;—adv. Firmly, strongly, strenuously; tightly, etc.:—mǒḥkam karnā, v.t. To render firm, or stable, or strong, etc.; to strengthen; to fortify.
