mutag̠aiyir, vulg. mutag̠aiyar (act. part. of تغیر 'to become altered or changed,' v of غیر ; but quasi-pass. of غیّر (ii of غیر ) 'to change,' which is prob. formed fr. g̠air, 'other,' q.v.), part. adj. Altered, changed (gen. for the worse);—disturbed, perplexed, stupefied;—changing, varying; mutable; inconsistent.
