mutaṣaddī(act. part. of تصدّي , which is used for تصدّد 'to turn away (from)'; 'to give one's attention or mind to'; v of دّص 'to turn away from,' etc.), part. adj. & s.m. Turning away the face, opposing;—attempting; daring; intent (on);—one who turns away the face, or opposes, etc.;—any inferior officer of government, a clerk, writer; an accountant, a comptroller:—mutaṣaddī-garī, s.f. Office of clerk, etc.
