मागधी māgadhī, s.f. The language of the Magadhas (being one of the principal forms of Prākrit, and nearly the same as that used in the sacred books of the Buddhists and Jains);—a kind of jasmine, Jasminum auriculatum;—long pepper;—white cumin; anise or dill; a species of cardamoms (grown in Gujarāt);—refined sugar.
