लपट lapaṭ[prob. fr. lipaṭ; S. िलƯाor िलƯं; cf. lapeṭ], s.f. A withering blast (as of hot wind, etc.); blast; shock; a coup-de-soleil;—flame, blaze; heat, warmth, glow (of fire, or flame, etc.);—sweet smell, scent, odour (syn. mahak):—lapaṭ-sapaṭ, s.f. Fawning; wriggling, writhing, etc. (cf. lapar-śapaṛ, and lapeṭ-sapeṭ).
