खकटा khekṭā[prob. S. ककर्टकः; cf. khekṛā], s.m. (dialec.) A troublesome affair or business, an embarrassment, encumbrance, bore, nuisance;—hardship, misfortune, calamity, epidemic disease, plague, pest, etc.:—khekṭāpaṛnā, A hitch or embarrassment to arise; a misfortune or calamity to occur.
