खप्पर khappar, or खपर khapar [Prk. खप्परं; S. खपर् रं], s.m. Skull, cranium;—a gourdshell, or an earthen cup (used by Jogīs or mendicants), a beggar's bowl or dish; a chafingdish (syn. ṭhīk, ṭhīkrā);—a vessel in which the blood of a victim is offered:—khappar bharnā(-kā), 'To fill a Jogī's or mendicant's dish,' to give alms (to a Jogī, in the name of Śiva); to make a blood-offering.
