खटाई khaṭā`ī[khaṭṭā+ā`ī= Prk. अइआ=S. aff. ता+इका], s.f. Sourness, acidity, tartness (=khaṭās, khaṭṭāpan);—an acid, souring matter (as used in culinary or chemical preparations):—khaṭā`ī-khānā, s.m.
