खाता khātā[prob. S. क्षत+कः, or i.q. khātā, 'eating'], s.m. Ledger or day-book (of a merchant or banker, etc.), account-book, wastebook; daily account, account-current:—khātā-bandī, s.f. An abstract of individual accounts:—khātā-bahī, s.f.
