खाता khātā[imperf. part. of khānā; and=Prk. खादंतओ, खाअंतओ; S. खादत् +अ+कः], part. adj. & s.m. (f. -ī), Eating; consuming;—expensive, costly;—who or what eats or consumes, etc.; eater;—the act of eating, etc.:—khātā-pītā, adj. 'Eating and drinking'; in easy circumstances, well-off, flourishing:—khātepīte lāteṅ ćalānāor mārnā, To be ungrateful in the midst of abundance; to quarrel with one's bread and butter.
