कन्ना kannā[Prk. कणओ; S. कणर् कः], s.m. Edge, rim; projection or handle (on the side of a vessel, etc., or one of two handles on the sides); one of the notches on the two sides of the upper leather of a shoe;—the part of a paper kite to which the string is tied:—kannā-dār, vulg. kanne-dār, s.m. A shoe or slipper with a notch at the side, or with a projecting piece at the heel (to pull it on by):—kannānikal-jānā(-kā), The rim or edge, or the handle (of a vessel), to be broken:—kannoṅ-se ukhaṛnāor ukhaṛ-jānā, (The string of a paper kite) to come clean out from, or be cut off at, the parts where it is tied; (met.) to fly off in a dudgeon, to turn away in a huff.
