kam-ṣalā, s.m. A method of transmuting words, so as to form, in writing, a cypher, and in speech a gibberish or cant language, unintelligible to all who do not possess the key (the letters k and m, ṣand lā, a and w, ḥand t̤, l and h, d and r, s and ‘a, are mutually interchanged for one another; and all those which have diacritical points remain unchanged; the word salāmat written according to this rule becomes عصكت ).
