क्षण kshaṇa, vulg. kshaṇ, and H. िक्षणkshiṇ, vulg. ćhiṇ, s.m. An instant, the twinkling of an eye, a moment; a measure of time equal to thirty kalās or four minutes; a leisure moment, leisure, vacation from work; fit or suitable moment, opportunity;—a festival; the time of new or full moon;—the centre, middle;—adv. For a moment:—kshaṇāntar (˚ṇa+an˚), adv. A momemt afterwards, the next moment, thereupon; moment by moment:—kshaṇ-bharmeṅ, adj. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye:—kshaṇa-dā, s.f. lit. 'Giving leisure'; night; turmeric;—kshaṇa-dā-ćar, s.m. (f. -āor -ī), 'Night-walker'; a rākshas, fiend, goblin:—kshaṇ-kshaṇ, adv. Moment by moment, from moment to moment, every moment, continually, constantly, without intermission:—kshaṇ-mātr, adv. Momentarily; merely for a moment:—kshaṇ-ek, s.m. & adv. One moment, an instant, a little while;—in a moment.
