कथा kathā, s.f. A word; speech, discourse; a story, tale, relation, recital, narrative, fable:—kathā-bārtā= kathā-vārttā, q.v.:—kathābāṅćnā, or kathābakhānnā, To read or recite a story, ora sacred book, etc.; to preach:—kathā-prabandh, s.m.
