कांवर kāṅwar[prob. Prk. कमढो; S. कमठः'a bamboo'], s.f. A bamboo lath with slings at each end (for the conveyance across the shoulder of pitchers, baskets, etc.;—syn. bahangī); a bamboo or pole with baskets slung at each end in which water from a holy river is carried:—kāṅwar-wālā, s.m.=kāṅwarī, q.v.
