कांस kāṅs[S. काशं], s.f. A tall species of grass that grows luxuriantly on waste and sandy soils, Imperata spontanea;—also=kās, q.v.:—kāṅs-meṅtairnā, 'To swim in the long grass called kāṅs'; to move swimmingly along in fancy; to soar on the wings of fancy; to be deluded by a mirage.
