qawwāl (intens. n. fr. قول 'to say; to tell,' etc.), adj. & s.m. Speaking much, or well; loquacious; fluent, eloquent;—one who speaks well, or fluently, etc.;—a professional storyteller;—a kind of musician who sings, and plays (on the sārangī, or t̤ambūra, etc.); a singer.
