qalīl (v.n. fr. قلّ 'to be little, or few,' etc.; see qillat), adj. Little, small, scanty, deficient; moderate; a few; few, rare; spare, lean; short:—qalīl-o-kas̤īr, adj. Small and large or great; little or much, more or less, etc. (=thoṛā-bahut):—qalīl honā, v.n. To be little; to be deficient, to fall short (of). P قلیہ qaliya, vulg. qalya (for A. قلیة qalīyat, v.n. fr. قلی 'to cook, fry,' etc.), s.m. Broiled flesh-meat dressed with anything; a curry;—ashes of which soap is made; potash.
