faẓl (inf. n. of فضل 'to exceed; to become redundant; to surpass or excel,' etc.), s.m. Excess, superabundance, exuberance; increase, gain; superiority, excellence; virtue; superior learning or knowledge, learning, wisdom;—a free gift, gratuity; grace, bounty; favour; benefit:—faẓl-ě-ilāhī, The grace of God; by the grace of God (all is well; or I am quite well, etc.); thank God! God be praised!:—faẓl karnā(-par), To be gracious (to); to show mercy or favour (to); to deal bountifully (with):—faẓl rahe, or faẓl-ě-maulā, The grace of God (be with you); God be with you (a form of benediction used by mendicants, etc.):—faẓl hai, All is well (by the grace of God).
