faryād, or firyād[Zend fra+aretha; S. ूाथर् (ूाथर् ना), + अथर्् ], s.f. Exclamation; lamentation; cry for help, or redress; complaint; charge; suit:—faryād-ras, adj. & s.m. Redressing complaints;—a redresser of grievances, a dispenser of justice; a helper, defender:—faryād-rasī, s.f. Redress of grievances, redress, succour:—faryād karnā, v.n. To cry aloud for help or redress (=duhā`o denā, q.v.); to lament; to complain; to bring an action or suit (against, -kī):—faryād-ko pahuṅćnā(kisī-kī), To heed the cry for redress (of); to hear the complaint or suit (of), to relieve; to do justice (to).
