g̠ayūrī[gayūr, q.v.+ī= Zend aff. i= S. इ], s.f. Jealousy (=g̠airat). فف fe, or fā, the twenty-sixth letter of the Urdū or Hindūstānīalphabet (the twentieth of the Arabic, and twenty-third of the Persian alphabet). Its sound is that of the English f.. It has no exact correspondent in Sanskrit, nor in any of the modern Aryan languages of India; in words introduced into these from the Persian or Arabic, फphis generally substituted for fe. As a numeral fedenotes 80.
