’allām (intens. n. fr. علم ; see ’ilm), adj. Very knowing, very scientific, very learned; allknowing, omniscient;—s.m. The Omniscient:—’allāmu’l-g̠uyūb, adj. & s.m. Knowing all mysteries, acquainted with things invisible, an epithet of the Deity.
