z̤ill (v.n. (fr. ظلّ 'to be or become shady,' etc.), s.m. Shade, shadow:—z̤illu`l-lāh, or z̤illě-subḥānī, 'The shadow of God'; (met.) a king, an emperor:—dāma z̤illu-hu (or -hum), 'May his (or their) shadow last long, may his (or their) prosperity continue.
