सूली sūlī[S. शूल+इका], s.f. An impaling stake;—gallows, gibbet;—(fig.) acute suffering, torture, agony; risk of life; hard labour:—sūlī-pe jān honā, To suffer torture or agony (like that of impalement); to be in constant fear of (one's) life:—sūlī-pe ćaṛhānā, or sūlī ćaṛhānā, or sūlīdenā(-ko), To impale; to hang; to crucify; to torture, give pain (to):—sūlī-dene-wālā, s.m. One who impales;—a hangman, executioner.
