सूर sūr [Prk. सूरो; S. सू रः and सूयर् ः], s.m. The sun;—a wise or learned man, a teacher;—sūr or sūr-dās, s.m. Name of a Hindūpoet who was blind; (hence) a blind man:—sūrsūt, s.m. lit. 'Charioteer of the sun,' an epithet of Aruṇa (or the Dawn personified).
