ःवाहा svāhā, vulg. su`āhā, An exclamation used on making an offering to a deity;—s.f. The personification of an offering or oblation as the wife of Agni (who presides over burnt-offerings):—su`āhākarnā, v.t. To make a burnt-offering of; to give to the fire, to burn, to turn to ashes; to consume, to swallow or devour greedily or excessively; to make away with, to embezzle.
