si`āyat (for A. سعایة , inf. n. of سعی 'to labour, etc.'), s.f. Work exacted of a halfransomed slave to complete his freedom, or his paying the remaining price of redemption;—accusing or informing against, accusation, calumny, detraction;—the care or management of the tenths or tithes raised for alms.
