su`āl, vulg. suwāl, sawāl (inf. n. of سأل 'to ask,' etc.), s.m. Asking, questioning; solicitation (of alms), begging; question, query, interrogation, interrogatory; demand, request, application, petition; a problem:—su`āl-ě-ishārī, s.m. An indicatory or leading question:—su`āl-ě-tardīd, s.m. Cross-question, cross-examination:—su`āl-jawāb, s.m.
