raḥmat (for A. رحمة , inf. n. of رحم 'to have mercy'), s.f. Mercy, compassion, pity (=raḥm); divine mercy or favour, pardon, forgiveness; a gift of the divine mercy, a blessing from on high; rain:—raḥmatu`l-lāh `alai-hi, The mercy of God (be) upon him:—ṣad-raḥmat, 'A hundred blessings from heaven' (be showered on you); bravo! well done!
