rāst [Zend rāsta, rt. rāz = S. राज् ], adj. Right, true; good, just, upright, straightforward, honest, sincere; right (as opp. to left); straight, even, level;—adv. Actually, certainly, surely, truly:—rāst-ě`tibār, adj. Of right faith, straightforward, honest:—rāst ānā, v.n. 'To come right,' to be set to rights, to be healed or cured; to regain (one's) temper; to agree (with); to prove effective:—rāst-bāz, adj. Faithful, trustworthy, to be depended on, honest, upright, righteous; candid, sincere:—rāst-bāzī, s.f. Fidelity, integrity, uprightness, honesty, plaindealing, fair play:—rāst-guftār, and rāst-go, adj. True of speech, truthful:—rāst-guftārī, and rāstgo`ī, s.f.
