rāḥat (for A. راحة , v.n. fr. روح ), s.f. Quiet, rest, repose, ease, tranquillity, cessation of toil or trouble or inconvenience, freedom from toil or trouble, etc., relief; pleasure:—rāḥat-afzā, adj. Quieting, soothing, promoting or adding to (one's) comfort, etc.:—rāḥat-ě-jān, vulg. rāḥat-jān, s.f. lit. 'Comfort of the soul'; green chillies chopped up and mixed with salt and lime-juice.
