Ʈारका dvārakā, Ʈािरका dvārikā, vulg. dwārkā, s.f. 'The city with many gates'; name of a sacred place of the Hindūs situated near the mouth of the gulf of Kach, on the western coast of Hindūstān (it was the capital of Krishṇa, and is supposed to have been submerged by the sea):—dvārakā-puri or purī, s.f.=dvārakā:—dvārakā-nāth, s.m. 'The lord of Dwārakā,' a name of Krishṇa:—dvārakā-vāsī, vulg. dwārkā-bāsī, s.m. An inhabitant of Dwārakā(applied especially to Krishṇa).
