धमक dhamak (v.n. fr. dhamaknā, q.v.), s.f. Noise of footsteps overhead, or such as arises from the fall ofa body, sound of thumping, drumming, etc.;—shooting pain, beating, throbbing, throb, pulsation; glow, blast, hot blast; lustre, radiance, glitter;—threatening, threat; awe;—fall, or unevenness (in ground, such as would produce a shock; e.g., in kahār's idiom, dhamak hai).
