धम्माल dhammāl, धमाल dhamāl [Prk. धम्मओलो; S. धमर् +आलः], s.m. Jumping into, or running through fire (a practice of faqīrs or qalandars; cf. dam-madār); skipping and capering (of qalandars, etc.);—a musical measure; a piece composed in that measure; a kind of song (sung during the Holīfestival); wild and tumultuous merriment, noise, tumult, uproar;—adj. (dialec.), Bulky, big, fat, corpulent (=dhumpāl, q.v.).
