ḥaqārat, vulg. ḥiqārat (for A. حقارة inf. n. of حقر 'to be contemptible'), s.f. Contempt, scorn, disdain; contemptibleness, despicableness, baseness, vileness;—disgrace; affront:—ḥiqārat-ā`id, honā, To be exposed to contempt:—ḥiqārat karnā(-kī), To treat with contempt, to despise:—ḥiqārat-kīnaz̤ar-se dekhnā, v.t. To regard with contempt, to look down upon.
