जज्ञ jagya [S. जज्ञः], s.m. Sacrifice, offering or oblation (=jagna; jag):—jagyabhūmi, s.f. 'Sacrifice-ground,' a place for sacrifice:—jagya-pātra, s.m. Asacrificial vessel:—jagya-purush, s.m. A name of Vishnu:—jagya-paśu, s.m. An animal for sacrifice, a victim; a horse:—jagya-sthān, s.m. A place for sacrifice:—jagya-siddhi, s.f. The completion or accomplishment of a sacrifice, the due performance of a sacrificial ceremony; obtaining the objects of a sacrifice:—jagyasūtra, s.m. The sacrificial or sacred thread worn (criginally by the three first classes of Hindus, but now) by the Brahmanical order (=jagnasūtra):—jagya-śālā, s.f. A sacrificial hall; a house or place for keeping the sacrificial fire:—jagya-karma, s.m.
