ज्वाला jvālā, s.f. = S جوال ज्वाल jvāl, s.m. Flame, blaze; light; fire; heat; passion:—jwālā-jihvā, s.m. 'Flame-tongued'; a name of Agni or fire:—jwālā-mukh, jwālā-mukhī, s.f. A volcano; any place where subterranean fire or inflammable gas breaks forth (such places being held sacred by the Hindūs as indicating the presence of a form of Durgā); a title of the goddess Devī(Durgā), and of her shrine in the district of Kāṅgrā, in the Panjāb.
