jārr, vulg. jār (act. part. of ج رّ 'to draw,' etc.), s.m. lit. Who or what drags, draws, or attracts; (in Gram.) a preposition (see ḥarf-ijār):—jārr-o-majrūr, s.m. 'The attracting and the attracted,' a preposition and the word it goverus:—ḥarf-i-jār, s.m. 'The attracting particle,' the particle that (in Arabic) governs the genitive; a preposition.
